HELP US EXPAND THE ALLARD HEREDITARY BREAST AND OVARIAN CANCER CLINIC

The Allard Hereditary Breast and Ovarian Cancer (HBOC) Clinic is the only clinic of its kind in Alberta.

Located within the Lois Hole Hospital for Women, the clinic provides risk assessment and surveillance for women who are at high risk for developing breast and ovarian cancer.

There are roughly 160,000 Albertans each year living with these high-risk cancer genes—but fewer than 10% are aware of their risk.

The Allard HBOC Clinic is currently limited by space and support staff to address the growing waitlist and wait times—exacerbated by the pandemic—and could use your support.

With additional funding, the clinic could drastically decrease wait times for genetic testing for these cancers (which can be up to three years total), support much-needed additional staff to provide improved care to patients, and cultivate a repository of data to support research toward discovering new and improved evidence-based treatment options.

What is this?

The Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation applies a sustainability allocation of five percent (5%) to all restricted donations. The sustainability allocation enables our Foundation to recover costs associated with the processing and management of donations, the effective stewardship and recognition of our donors, and the provision of reports and other communication materials that tell the story of donor impact upon the hospital, its medical centres of excellence, and the patient care provided. Tax receipts will be issued for the full donation amount.
