On August 8th, 2020 I am walking/running in the Give a Breath Virtual 5k walk/run for my father and family. In 2019 my father and brother put together this run for the first time to raise funds and awareness for lung cancer research following my father's diagnosis of stage 4 lung cancer in 2018 and it was wildy successful!  Lung cancer has a stigma of being associated with smoking, and yet it impacts many individuals that have never picked up a cigaratte or a cigar in their life!  Lung cancer is underfunded because of this stigma, and our family wants to change that!  This year the challenges of COVID-19 have led to a few adjustments, but a virtual run is still on!  I encourage you to sign-up for the virtual run, or at the very least donate to the Monds Family team in support of lung cancer research!

 

It is time to clear the air and break the stigma surrounding lung cancer. It is time to educate ourselves about Canada’s second most diagnosed cancer. It is time we give those facing this horrible disease the support that they deserve.
